Eucalyptus Systems
Originally developed as part of an NSF-funded academic research project at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Eucalyptus has quickly become the leading Open Source cloud platform. One in five of the Fortune 100 have built a cloud on Eucalyptus, and In 2010 globally more than 25,000 Eucalyptus clouds were started.
Primarily designed for enterprise usage (web and mobile services, mission-critical internal use, big data and large computations), Eucalyptus delivers the cost efficiencies and scalability of a cloud architecture with the security and control of an organization’s own IT infrastructure. Eucalyptus has a rich partner ecosystem including: Red Hat, Canonical, Dell, and HP, and also supports all the major hypervisors as well as being fully AWS compliant.
