Komputers 4 R Kids is a 501 c(3) public charity and a California state licensed collector of e-waste. Our organization’s main aim is computers for children, as our name implies. Ensuring that computer systems are reused and recycled so that they do not end up in our landfills also provides environmental benefits.
Open Source Software such as Ubuntu assists them in helping students of all ages in the Los Angeles area acquire the equipment and skills they need to succeed in the future by providing equitable access to technology resources.
Komputers 4 R Kids provides realistic hope that limited funding of families and schools does not preclude access to useful technology.
The Komputers 4R Kids Program has been designed to address four key issues: E-waste, computer to student ratios in Los Angeles, "Work experience for Information Technology" students and PC’s for students who are underserved due to economic, language, and cultural barriers.
