Chris Brannon has been blind since birth. He grew up with a passion for technology, earning his first amateur radio license at age 10, and holds both a BS and MS in computer science. He currently works for Prgmr.com and was a customer for several years before becoming an employee. Prior to that, he worked at Google.
He has worked on various open-source projects over the years, most of which are related to accessibility under Linux. He has made significant contributions to Speakup (http://linux-speakup.org/speakup.html), a kernel-space screen reader for the Linux console. He is also the founder of the TalkingArch project (https://talkingarch.tk/) which provides a speech-and-braille enabled installer for ArchLinux.
