Workshop: Develop a smart contract with the IBM Blockchain Platform VSCode extension

Have you ever wanted to get into blockchain development, but haven’t found a good place to start? In this workshop, you will explore a use case of blockchain and implement a smart contract using VSCode on the popular, free, open-source blockchain platform hosted by the Linux Foundation: Hyperledger Fabric. First, you will learn about the architecture behind this platform - the peers, the orderer, and the certificate authority. Later, you will look at the code and API’s necessary to implement digital identity, smart contracts, and ultimately to update the ledger. Lastly, you will test your contract, and query the ledger, ensuring all the data that you have updated the ledger with is actually there.
