Swimming in the Countywide DataLake

L.A. County’s Internal Services Department has recently deployed an open-source Data Lake based on the Hadoop ecosystem. Jon Neill, Program Manager for ISD’s Data Analytics Team will discuss the vision, approach, and challenges in rolling out a modern data analytics platform in a large multi-departmental, multi-stakeholder governmental agency.  In this presentation, Jon will discuss the overall Data enviroment at L.A. County, the long term vision, and the components of a data analytics platform using all open source tools.  He'll show various implementations, plans for the future, and a overall vision for data analytics for L.A. County.
