KVM Weather Report

When users run a KVM virtual machine, they see a seamless experience of a guest OS running on top of the host Linux OS.  They seldom realise there are several layers that make up the components that drive the virtualization of the guest.  This talk will briefly introduce the KVM, QEMU, libvirt projects that form the basis for KVM virtualization. We will then look at the recent enhancements in KVM virtualization, including enhancements in the real time features (KVM-RT), live migration, device assignment, the paravirtualized VIRTIO framework, etc. We will conclude with a few features to look forward to in the coming months.
