Thanks to the Southern California Linux Expo SCALE 13x, the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel has reached capacity for the week/weekend of our event. However, the SCALE Team has currently contacted other hotels nearby for special prices for those who still require lodging.

As the first-of-the-year Linux/Open Source software expo in North America, SCaLE 12X expects to host more than 100 exhibitors this year, along with nearly 80 sessions, tutorials and special events

SCaLE is a community run open-source and free software conference held annually in Los Angeles.

SCALE 11x will be held February 22-24, 2013 at the LAX Hilton.   SCALE 11X – the 11th annual Southern California Linux Expo – takes place on Feb. 22-24, 2013, at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel. As the first-of-the-year Linux/Open Source software expo in North America, SCALE 11X expects to host more than 100 exhibitors this year, along with presenting more than 70 speakers. 

This year we will be turning your favorite open-conference up to 11 with an expanded set of co-located conferences and special events such as DevOps Day Los Angeles, the MySQL Community Conference, and many more.

UpSCALE - Announcing Speaker Lineup

UpSCALE is a set of lightening talks held at SCALE, in the style of Ignite presentations. Speakers will get 5 minutes to enlighten the audience. Slides will auto-advance every 15 seconds - this format makes for a fast paced, fun event for participants and audience.

Announcing Keynote Speaker: Ken Thompson

The SCALE Team is excited to share that Ken Thompson will be joining us as a keynote speaker at SCALE 20X. Ken Thompson designed and co-created UNIX, UTF-8, Plan 9, and Golang among other technologies that have been foundational to modern technology and computer science. The SCALE Team is excited to share that Dr. Kitty Yeung will be joining us as Sunday morning's keynote speaker.

Dr. Kitty Yeung is a physicist, engineer and artist, in addition to her role leading incubation projects at Microsoft. To drive integration between science and art, she also founded a sustainable and STEAM fashion brand, Art by Physicist, and founded the fashion-tech initiative at Microsoft.
