Managing Infrastructure for Confidential AI using OpenStack

Audience:
Topic:

Confidential Computing is a technology that enables processing of sensitive data in a secure enclave that is a Hardware based trusted execution environment (TEE). With this technology, data in use becomes inaccessible to even internal administrators, thus enabling technical assurance of data security instead of operational assurance. There are multiple implementations of Confidential Computing available like Secure Execution (IBM), SEV (AMD) , SGX (Intel) etc. With more and more focus on AI and other technology space like Digital Asset, Confidential Computing is a sought after technology to ensure that personal or sensitive data is not hacked into. In this session, we will cover how OpenStack can be used as a cloud control plane to manage a Confidential Computing Infrastructure, its provisioning and life cycle management. We will demonstrate this using Secure Execution, which is a IBM Z Systems Implementation of Confidential Computing.
