Kata Containers - Security and Containers Without Compromise

Audience:

One of the most discussed topics in the industry today is security. Modern society is highly dependent on digital infrastructure and technologies, with services becoming available online in areas like finances and healthcare. With that, the increasing amount of sensitive data going through the network requires improved security measures on all layers of the modern software infrastructure and application stack.

Learn more about how Kata Containers, an open source, secure container runtime project, utilizes virtualization technology to overcome the biggest gap in traditional containers, the lack of isolation. The project is running in production in large public clouds, financial institutions, and being utilized for machine learning use cases to ensure data privacy. For an additional layer of protection the community is actively collaborating with the Confidential Containers (CoCo) project, which brings confidential computing mechanisms into the container space.

This presentation will provide a technology overview of Kata Containers, including its integration with CoCo, and highlight a couple of interesting use cases to show the project in action. Session attendees will also get a sneak peek into the project’s roadmap and upcoming 4.0 release.
