Car Hacking Village Badge
The Car Hacking Village was created by me (Robert Leale) and Craig Smith (Author or the Car Hackers Handbook). We first launched the village at Def Con in 2015. The first year we made an electronic, hackable badge and have been doing so for each of the Def Con Villages.
We've expanded our badge to other Cons that we attend such as GrrCon, DerbyCon, CypherCon, ThotCon, and hopefully many more. Each badge was designed and built by members of the Car Hacking Village with the goal of created a powerful and fun Vehicle tool.
Because the badge is extensable, we have had some cool modifications from supporters of the badge such as created a SocketCAN tool that allows us to connect the badge directly to USB and the PC and monitor traffic live.
In this talk we will discuss the original Car Hacking Village badge and those from the last three years of Def Con and those from the smaller cons as well. I will also talk about the future of the badge and what we hope to accomplish in the future.
