We're out of addresses, now what?

The protocol is dead, long live the protocol.

We've run out of IPv4 addresses*. We've got lots of IPv6 addresses, but everyone is still clinging desperately to the IPv4 internet.

IPv6 adoption has been slow, but it is accelerating.

We'll talk about where we've been, where things are going, and what you can do to help. We'll take a humorous look at some typical conversations between end-users and residential internet providers about IPv6 (including that awkward silence when the person at the ISP comes to the sudden realization that they know a lot less about the network than the customer) and we'll talk about ways to encourage content providers to deploy IPv6. (If you're listening Amazon, yes, I'm talking to you and all the IPv4-only sites hosted on your IPv4-only AWS implementation!!).
