We're thrilled to welcome you back to Pasadena for SCALE 22x! One of the highlights of Pasadena is the wide number of dining and entertainment options within walking distance of the convention center.

To help you make the most of your time here, we've enlisted the expertise of Cho-Nan Tsai, a Pasadena local and SCALE community member, to share his favorite local spots. Whether you need your morning caffeine fix, a quick lunch between sessions, or a place to unwind with fellow attendees after hours, this guide has you covered.

SCaLE 22x – the 22nd Annual Southern California Linux Expo – will take place on March 6-9, 2025 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA.

SCaLE is the largest community-run open-source and free software conference in North America. It is held annually in the greater Los Angeles area.

Present! The SCaLE 22x call for presenters will close on 1 November, 2024.

Attend!  Register to attend the conference. Expo is open Friday - Sunday. Talks and workshops are Thursday - Sunday.

Lunch and Dinner Options:

King Taco (0.2 miles, 8am-12am):
Serving delicious and affordable Mexican food, King Taco is a must-visit for those craving tacos or burritos. Good for vegetarians.

UpSCALE - Announcing Speaker Lineup

UpSCALE is a set of lightening talks held at SCALE, in the style of Ignite presentations. Speakers will get 5 minutes to enlighten the audience. Slides will auto-advance every 15 seconds - this format makes for a fast paced, fun event for participants and audience. 
Please join us on Friday evening at 6:30pm as our speakers do their best to beat the clock and get their ideas out!  


Announcing Keynote Speaker: Ken Thompson

The SCALE Team is excited to share that Ken Thompson will be joining us as a keynote speaker at SCALE 20X. Ken Thompson designed and co-created UNIX, UTF-8, Plan 9, and Golang among other technologies that have been foundational to modern technology and computer science.
