Speaking Topic: Haiku: An Open Source OS Designed for the Desktop

Bruno has had an interest on computing in general since he was 10 years old, when he had his first personal computer. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science from State University of Maring� (Brazil) in 1997, Bruno started his career as a software developer. He worked for several years as a kernel engineer for yellowTAb GmbH, developers of the commercial ZETA Operating System. Bruno currently works as a software engineer at Google, is still an active contributor to the Haiku Project, as well as to to other open source projects. As an active a member of the Haiku Project from its beginnings, Bruno was the team lead for the OpenBFS Team, the group responsible for the development of native file system for Haiku. He has also contributed in other areas, such as Haiku's Mail Daemon Replacement, and BeOS ports of Apache and PosthgreSQL. Bruno is also president of the Brazilian Be User Group (BUG-Br).
