Encrypted Btrfs Subvolumes: New Features

Btrfs is the oldest next-generation filesystem for Linux, providing subvolumes and snapshotting and with the ability to use multiple disks, much like LVM. Recently, I and others worked to add encryption support to btrfs, allowing setting per-subvolume encryption keys, which adds an interesting new encryption option. While still experimental (and as of mid-December still under development upstream) , this cutting-edge feature is an interesting alternative to LUKS usage, though it requires some setup to use -- this talk will discuss its usage, the tradeoffs between btrfs and LUKS-based encryption, and how to hook up btrfs encryption as your main encrypted disk mechanism.
